Cover Ups
The US Justice Department has spent $8,000 of taxpayer dollars on curtains to cover up the statue from the cameras. The female, art-deco "Spirit of Justice" statue, with one breast exposed, is located on the podium in the department's ornate Great Hall where news conferences are often held. Statues are among many things the Attorney General likes to cover up. Information is another.
Union of the State
The civilized world faces unprecedented dangers – both from demented terrorists plotting attacks and other nations, like ours, pissing on the Geneva Convention. Yet the state of our Union has never been stronger. And the Union of our State has never been more dangerous and illusory.
Layed Off
Clifford Baxter, who resigned as vice chairman in May, was named in an explosive warning that another Enron executive sent to company Chairman and Chief Executive Kenneth Lay in August, was was found dead in a Mercedes-Benz in the Houston suburb of Sugar Land. He had been shot in the head. Suicide? Did Vincent Foster do it?
Powered by Enron
Enron squandered the life savings of its employees as insiders sold their shares raking in $1.1 billion. Enron officials Jeffrey Skilling and Kenneth Lay’s unwitting employee funded campaign contributions to George W. Bush, John Ashcroft and other slimy misfits are being revealed for what they are. May we all see the light this January 2002.
