The conspiracy theories surrounding the execution of Nick Berg are plentiful, and with good reason. A government that sets up programs to lie to people, deliberately misinforms and withholds information it should not, and that desperately needs a distraction from the spiral of chaos from a alck of planning sets itself up for suspicion and mistrust. While the terrorists should be appropriately chided for failing to provide such exquisite detail of their attacks, such an expectation from your National Security Advisor suggests we disband the CIA, FBI, and Department of the Homeland altogether, and simply adopt a “Hope for the Best” motto as an equally effective and far less expensive counter-terrorism strategy.
Buddy you're a sold out soldier; Dying in the street gonna take on the world some day. No control of your fate, tough to relate; Serving your soul to the people you hate. We will we will mock you, We will we will mock you -- April 8, 2004
Judicial-ethics experts say Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's ride aboard Air Force Two could be viewed as an improper gift from a litigant to a justice. In addition, some say the fact that the justice and a litigant are vacationing together undermines the appearance of judicial impartiality.
